Disk-array Icy Dock MB998SP-B crni 8 diskova

The Icy Dock MB998SP-B is a 5.25” bay disk array that holds up to eight 2.5” SATA drives or SSDs with 7mm height in a single optical bay. Designed with a full-metal housing and two 40mm cooling fans, the unit provides a compact, high-density storage solution for workstations, servers, and industrial systems where space and reliability matter.

Advantages

The enclosure offers high drive density by fitting eight 2.5” SATA drives into one 5.25” bay, supports hot-swap operation via removable EZ Slide Nano trays, and secures drives with an Eagle-hook lock. Dual 40mm fans and ventilated openings ensure effective airflow, while the full-metal construction, Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT) and EMI grounding improve durability and reliability in demanding environments. LED indicators with Active Power Technology (APT) provide individual drive status and only activate when a drive is installed.

Suitable for

• High-capacity RAID arrays (RAID 0/1/5/10 and JBOD)
• Compact servers and workstation storage expansion
• Home servers, HTPCs and gaming rigs requiring dense 2.5” storage
• Industrial, medical or military IPCs and systems that require rugged enclosures

How to use

Install the MB998SP-B into an available 5.25” drive bay and secure it according to your chassis instructions. Insert 2.5” SATA drives or SSDs (7mm height) into the EZ Slide Nano trays, lock each tray with the Eagle-hook mechanism if desired, and slide trays into the enclosure. Connect the SATA data cables to the host controller and attach the two 15-pin SATA power connectors with the locking latches to supply power to all bays. The enclosure supports hot-swap operation, so drives can be added or removed while the system is running if your controller and OS allow.

Recommendations

For best results, use matched drives for RAID arrays and ensure proper airflow in the chassis. Enable APT and monitor drive LEDs for status. In industrial or medical installations, mount the unit securely and follow system grounding and EMI guidelines to maintain reliability.
