Upravljani switch PLANET GS-4210-16P4C

The PLANET GS-4210-16P4C is a managed L2/L4 Gigabit Ethernet switch with 20 ports and integrated PoE+ capability. It provides 16 Gigabit 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with 36 W 802.3at PoE+ per port, plus four Gigabit TP/SFP combo uplink ports, and a total PoE power budget of up to 220 W. The switch supports IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack management, a 40 Gbit/s switching capacity and a MAC address table suitable for small and medium business networks, offering a compact 1U rack-mount form factor for surveillance, wireless and VoIP deployments.

Advantages

The GS-4210-16P4C combines managed Layer 2/Layer 4 switching, robust cybersecurity features and advanced PoE management into a single device. It supports ERPS (G.8032) and MSTP for fast recovery and network resiliency, includes SSHv2/TLS and SNMPv3 for secure management, and offers low-noise smart-fan operation. Built-in PoE functions such as PD Alive Check, scheduled power recycling, PoE scheduling, PoE usage monitoring and PoE extension improve device availability, energy efficiency and simplified administration.

Suitable for

• Small and medium business networks requiring PoE+ for IP cameras and wireless access points
• Surveillance installations with long-distance uplinks using SFP modules
• VoIP deployments and converged data/voice/video services
• Edge switching where secure management and fast recovery are required

How to use

Install the GS-4210-16P4C in a standard 1U rack and connect network devices to the copper and SFP ports. Configure IPv4 or IPv6 management using the web interface, Telnet/console or SNMP-based tools. Enable PoE on required ports and set PoE schedules or PD Alive Check parameters to automate device resets and weekly power recycling. For long-distance PoE devices, enable Extend mode on specific ports to supply PoE up to 250 m at 10 Mbps where supported.

Recommendations

For security and reliability, use the switch’s SSHv2/TLS and SNMPv3 management options, deploy 802.1X with RADIUS or TACACS+ for port authentication, and enable ERPS/MSTP to protect critical links. Monitor PoE consumption via the web interface and apply PoE schedules to reduce power use during non-business hours.
