PLANET WGSW-24040HP4 upravljani switch

The PLANET WGSW-24040HP4 is a managed L2/L4 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ switch designed for small and medium business networks, IP surveillance and wireless deployments. It provides 20 Gigabit 10/100/1000Base-T PoE ports with IEEE 802.3at/802.3af support, four Gigabit SFP slots for fiber uplinks and a switching capacity of 48 Gbit/s. The switch supports IPv4/IPv6 management, a MAC address table of 8000 entries and a range of Layer 2–4 features for traffic control and security.

Advantages

The WGSW-24040HP4 centralizes PoE power delivery with up to 30 W per port for high-power PDs while offering a total power budget suitable for various PoE applications. Built-in managed functions include PD alive-check, scheduled power recycling, SMTP/SNMP trap event alerts and PoE scheduling for energy saving. The unit supports IPv6/IPv4 management, web/console/SNMP/SSH/SSL management interfaces and robust Layer 2 to Layer 4 features such as VLAN, link aggregation, QoS and access control lists to meet security and performance needs.

Suitable for

• IP surveillance systems with PoE cameras (including PTZ and IR cameras)
• Wireless access point deployments requiring central PoE feeding
• Small and medium business networks requiring managed Gigabit switching and security
• Edge network aggregation with fiber uplinks using SFP modules

How to use

Install the switch in a standard equipment rack or on a flat surface and connect power. Attach PoE devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports using CAT5e/6 cables and connect uplinks via the SFP slots using appropriate fiber transceivers. Access the management interface through the web GUI, console, Telnet or SNMP to configure VLANs, PoE schedules, PD alive-check and security policies. Monitor events and alerts through SMTP or SNMP traps and use the built-in tools to troubleshoot connected PDs.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use CAT5e/6 cabling for PoE connections and select SFP transceivers that match required distance and fiber type. Configure PD Alive-Check and scheduled power recycling for critical IP cameras to reduce downtime, and enable PoE scheduling to save power during off-hours. Keep firmware up to date and restrict management access via SSH/SSL or SNMPv3 to maintain network security.
