Neupravljani switch PLANET FSD-1008HP

The PLANET FSD-1008HP is an unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch with 10 RJ-45 ports that provides centralized Power over Ethernet (PoE) distribution for small-scale networks. It supplies eight 10/100TX ports with 30-watt 802.3at PoE+ on each port and a total PoE budget of 120 watts, plus two uplink ports for network expansion. Housed in a compact, metal desktop-sized chassis with fanless ventilation, the switch supports reliable data and power delivery for HD IP surveillance, wireless access points and IP phones.

Advantages

The FSD-1008HP offers extendable Ethernet distance and three selectable operation modes (Standard, VLAN, Extend) via a DIP switch, enabling per-port 10 Mbps duplex with 30 W PoE up to 250 meters in Extend mode. VLAN mode provides port-based isolation to reduce multicast/broadcast interference, while the Standard mode operates as a conventional IEEE 802.3at PoE+ switch. Fanless, ventilated metal housing ensures silent, stable operation without a cooling fan. Combined data and power over a single cable reduces installation complexity and eliminates the need for nearby electrical outlets.

Suitable for

• Small office or retail deployments with PoE cameras and wireless access points
• Workgroups requiring quick PoE device installation without additional power wiring
• Outdoor or remote camera runs where extended Ethernet distance up to 250 m is needed (using Extend mode)

How to use

Place the switch on a desk or mount it as required and connect the uplink ports to your network core or router. Use standard Ethernet cables to connect PoE devices (IP cameras, APs, IP phones) to the PoE ports; each port provides power and data over one cable. Select the desired operation mode with the built-in DIP switch: choose Standard for normal PoE+ operation, VLAN to isolate ports and limit broadcast/multicast effects, or Extend to enable 10 Mbps duplex with 30 W PoE up to 250 meters for long cable runs. Ensure the total PoE power draw does not exceed the 120 W budget.

Recommendations

The FSD-1008HP is best used for small to medium PoE deployments. In installations with many high-power PDs, plan power allocation to avoid exceeding the 120 W budget. Use Extend mode only when cable length requires it and verify device compatibility with 10 Mbps operation. For critical environments, mount the unit in a well-ventilated area and use quality Ethernet cabling to maintain stable links.
