Why choose it

The FireboxV Large delivers enterprise-grade security in a software-defined form factor, eliminating the need for physical appliances in virtualized environments. It offers the same core protections as WatchGuard hardware firewalls—including HTTPS inspection, application control, and optional subscription services like Gateway AntiVirus, IPS, and WebBlocker—while scaling easily with your virtual infrastructure.

Ideal use cases

• Small to medium businesses virtualizing their network edge
• Branch offices requiring consistent security policies
• Managed service providers offering multi-tenant firewall services
• Distributed enterprises standardizing on virtual appliances

Good to know

The FireboxV Large requires 2 vCPUs, 4 GB RAM, and 16 GB storage. It supports active/passive high availability and up to 10 configurable virtual interfaces. Security services are licensed separately; the included 3-year Basic Security Suite covers essential protections. For advanced features like APT Blocker or Data Loss Prevention, additional subscriptions are available.
