The Delock USB 3.0 PCI‑E Interface Card (model 89273) adds two USB 3.0 ports to a desktop PC via a PCI Express x1 slot. The card uses an NEC chipset and provides one external USB‑A 3.0 port, one internal USB‑A 3.0 port and a 15‑pin SATA power connector. It is compatible with earlier USB standards and supports data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps when connected to USB 3.0 devices.

Advantages

This PCI‑E card delivers high‑speed data transfer of up to 5 Gbps for USB 3.0 devices while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. How to use

Power off the PC and unplug it from the mains. Install the card into a free PCI Express x1 slot and secure it in the chassis. If required, connect the internal SATA 15‑pin power cable from the system power supply to the card. Connect internal devices to the internal USB‑A connector or connect external USB devices to the external USB‑A port. Power on the PC and install any necessary drivers if the operating system does not automatically recognise the card.

Recommendations

Use a PCIe x1 or larger slot for installation and connect the SATA power cable when using devices that require external power. To achieve the stated 5 Gbps transfer rate, connect USB 3.0 devices and use appropriate high‑quality cables. When connecting USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 devices, expect lower transfer speeds.
