HP senzor okoline WP2-5200-000CN

Data center operators need precise environmental monitoring at the rack level to protect critical IT equipment from thermal stress and condensation. The HP Environmental Sensor WP2-5200-000CN connects directly to HP Intelligent Power Distribution Units (iPDU) via an RJ-12 port, providing real-time temperature and relative humidity readings without additional power supplies or network configuration. Its 3-meter cable reaches from the iPDU to the optimal sensing point inside the rack, while the magnetic or adhesive mounting options allow flexible placement near air inlets, hot spots, or humidity-sensitive components.

Key specifications

• Monitored parameters: Temperature, relative humidity
• Temperature range: 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F)
• Temperature accuracy: ±1°C
• Humidity range: 10% to 90% RH (non-condensing)
• Humidity accuracy: ±5% RH
• Connectivity: RJ-12, cable length 3 m (10 ft)
• Compatibility: HP Intelligent Power Distribution Units (iPDU), HP Advanced Power Manager (APM)
• Power source: Powered by connected iPDU
• Installation: Magnetic or adhesive mounting
• Enclosure: ABS plastic, black

Why choose it

This sensor eliminates blind spots in thermal management by feeding data directly into the iPDU's management interface, where it can be viewed alongside power metrics. No separate gateway or software is required, and installation takes minutes. The ±1°C and ±5% RH accuracy meets ASHRAE recommended ranges for data center environmental monitoring, helping you maintain uptime and extend hardware life.

Ideal use cases

• Server racks and network closets where hot spots may develop
• Facilities using HP iPDUs with Advanced Power Manager for centralized monitoring
• Compliance with environmental monitoring policies for IT infrastructure
• Retrofit projects adding sensing to existing racks without new cabling infrastructure

Good to know

The sensor is powered by the iPDU, so no batteries or external power adapters are needed. Its ABS plastic housing is durable for long-term deployment in equipment racks. For best accuracy, place the sensor away from direct airflow from cooling units and at a height representative of the equipment intake temperature.
