ADATA SMAR-980B-1TCS interni solid-state disk 1 TB M.2 PCI Express 5.0 NVMe 3D NAND

MARS 980 BLADE is a high-performance M.2 NVMe SSD (ADATA SMAR-980B-1TCS) with PCIe Gen5 x4 and NVMe 2.0 support, designed for laptops, PCs and compatible game consoles. The drive offers a compact form factor and advanced 6nm controller technology to balance performance and power efficiency while remaining compatible with Intel and AMD platforms. Available in capacities up to 4TB, the 1TB model delivers extremely fast sequential transfer rates and improved durability for demanding workloads.

Advantages

The SSD provides up to 14,000 MB/s sequential read and up to 10,000 MB/s sequential write speeds, delivering substantially higher throughput than PCIe Gen4 and Gen3 drives. Built with TSMC 6nm process components and 232-layer 3D NAND, it reduces heat generation and improves power efficiency, making it suitable for compact systems and laptops. Features such as SLC caching, DRAM cache buffer, ECC and hardware TCG Pyrite encryption increase responsiveness, data integrity and security. The drive is backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 platforms and includes SSD Toolbox software for firmware updates and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring.

Suitable for

• High-performance gaming on laptops and PCs, including PS5 expansion slot
• Content creation and AI workloads that require fast storage throughput
• Everyday heavy multitasking and fast application or OS boot times

How to use

Install the M.2 PCIe Gen5 SSD into an available M.2 slot on a compatible laptop, desktop or game console (PS5 expansion slot support requires a compatible PS5 slot and proper cooling allowance). Secure the drive with the mounting screw and ensure the host system BIOS/UEFI recognizes the NVMe device. For best performance, use a motherboard or platform that supports PCIe 5.0; the drive remains functional on PCIe 4.0/3.0 with reduced bandwidth. Install the SSD Toolbox utility to perform firmware updates and monitor drive health via S.M.A.R.T.

Recommendations

Monitor drive temperature and firmware using the included SSD Toolbox, enable appropriate cooling in compact systems when sustained heavy loads are expected, and ensure the host platform BIOS is up to date for optimal compatibility and performance.
